As promised at my Pause on Error session a couple weeks ago, I'm posting the download link for fmMap which allows for single and multiple-point Google maps to be created in FileMaker Pro's Web Viewer. This download includes all the FileMaker binaries (example files) plus all the web-based files (PHP, CSS, etc) for hosting this yourself.
You can use this immediately if you want to use our free hosted service, but we won't guarantee any uptime on the service. If you want to set up your own host or need more customization help, you can start with the documentation or, If you need help beyond that, feel free to contact us for a quote.
fmMap vs. the Google Map API
How does this differ from just using the Google Mapping API? I wasn't at POE, so I am in the dark about your presentation. What does your solution allow that is not available by just getting fancy with the URL attached to a web viewer?
directions to multiple addresses/routing
Such a well organized and thought out tool. I am so excited that you have shared it. I integrated it easily into my FMP. One question - is it possible to ROUTE multiple addresses? I know you can do this in Google maps. They seem to have a start and destination in the URLs and additional addresses as +to: but I am not quite sure how to make it work in a web viewer. Thanks so much!
