DevCon 2008: Cross-Pollination

Being “the web guy” in a FileMaker shop can sometimes be a solitary existence… even when you’re called upon to work on a FileMaker/Web integration point you usually get only a glimpse of the FileMaker solution you’re talking to, and the FileMaker developer gets only a glimpse into whatever it is you’re putting together. Most of the time there is not much discussion about what is going on behind the developers’ respective hoods, and that’s generally OK.

DevCon08 Redux

en route from Dallas back to Jacksonville...

This has been a tremendously successful DevCon for Proof. It was great to re-connect with so many amazing developers.

There is just so much exiting stuff that keeps coming out the community; I continue to be in awe by the creativity and quality of work by our peers.

The future looks very bright for FileMaker.I am also quite humbled by the fantastic reception of fmSpark. If we missed you at the conference, please do not hesitate to drop us a note.

Proof Interviews and Podcasts from FileMaker DevCon

Ernest, Mike and Steve spent 30 minutes yesterday with Dan Weiss of Adatasol recording a podcast interview that is available here and on iTunes. We covered a wide range of topics, including our journey with fmSpark, our relationship with SeedCode, and in an unplanned but fun moment, our first public announcement of some of our upcoming products (near the end).

Google Maps Mashup in FileMaker

I had an awesome turnout for my FileMaker DevCon Workshop on Google Mapping in FileMaker today.  If you were in the audience I want to thank you for being there.  Stop me and say "Hi" if you see me around.

Here's a picture of me on stage.

He spent several minutes showing off how fmSpark can be used to create and send an HTML email, save templates, and manage recipients.
